How fan are counted

After a win, add up every fan your hand qualifies for. Each flower adds 1 more point, but flowers do not count toward the 8-point minimum.

A hand with no fan at all (flowers aside) scores Chicken Hand, 8 points.

The five counting principles

Non-repeat: a fan already implied by a bigger one is not counted again. Full Flush has no honours by definition, so No Honors is not added; Fully Concealed Hand already includes Concealed Hand and Self-Drawn.

Big Four Winds: no Big Three Winds, All Pungs, Prevalent Wind, Seat Wind or Pungs of Honors

Non-separation: once the hand is split into sets, you may not break a set apart to make another fan.

Non-identical: the same sets cannot form the same fan twice. Two identical chows give one Pure Double Chow.

Account-once: each remaining set may combine only once with a set that has already been combined. A Pure Straight plus another 123 gives one Pure Double Chow with one chow of the straight — not two.

Pure Straight 16 + Pure Double Chow 1 (not twice)

Take the highest: when a hand can be split in several ways, use the one that scores most.

As three pungs (Pure Shifted Pungs + Three Concealed Pungs) it beats three chows (Pure Triple Chow)

The game applies all five principles for you, and the results list the fan that were not counted.
