All Terminals and Honors in Chinese Official Mahjong (MCR): Points, Examples and Odds

All Terminals and Honors example: pungs of 1 characters, 9 dots, 9 bamboo and South Wind, plus a pair of Red Dragons

In Chinese Official Mahjong, All Terminals and Honors (混幺九) is worth 32 points: every tile in your winning hand is a 1, a 9 or an honor — no 2 to 8 at all. Terminals can't form chows, so the hand is always four pungs and a pair, or seven pairs.

FAQ

How many points is All Terminals and Honors?

32 points in Chinese Official Mahjong, not combined with All Pungs, Pung of Terminals or Honors or Outside Hand.

Can I pung for it?

Yes. It doesn't need to be concealed; the normal form is four pungs anyway, so pungs and kongs are fine.

What's the difference from Outside Hand?

Outside Hand only needs a terminal or honor in every set and the pair, with 2–8 tiles allowed inside chows; All Terminals and Honors uses nothing but terminals and honors, and scores far more.

Can Seven Pairs be All Terminals and Honors?

Yes. If all seven pairs are terminals or honors, you score both, 56 points or more.
