The rules for All Honors
- Only the 7 honor kinds, four of each — 28 tiles in total
- Honors cannot form chows, so a standard hand is always four pungs (or kongs) plus a pair
- Or seven pairs: one pair of each of the seven honors
- Claiming and kongs are allowed — it does not have to be concealed
What All Honors does not combine with
Under the non-repeat principle these are implied and not counted:
- All Pungs (6): a standard hand is always four pungs
- All Terminals and Honors (32) and Outside Hand (4)
- Pung of Terminals or Honors (1 each): non-scoring wind pungs are not counted one by one
Still counted: the honor pungs are scoring tiles themselves, so Dragon Pung (2), Two Dragon Pungs, Prevalent Wind and Seat Wind are added; if the shape fits, Little Three Dragons, Little Four Winds, Big Three Dragons, Big Four Winds, Four Concealed Pungs or Seven Pairs stack on top. An All Honors win is usually worth far more than 64 points.

How it relates to other fan
- Half Flush: one suit plus honors, 6 points. All Honors is the extreme with no suit at all.
- All Terminals and Honors: terminals plus honors, 32 points; All Honors absorbs it.
- All Pungs: a standard All Honors hand is always All Pungs.
- Seven Pairs: seven honor pairs add Seven Pairs (24).
- Big Three Dragons, Big Four Winds: honor fan in themselves; when the rest of the hand is also honors, All Honors is added.
Odds of All Honors
Only the 28 honor tiles qualify. The chart counts honors in a 13-tile opening hand:
| Honor tiles in the opening hand | Chance |
|---|---|
| 2+ tiles | 80% |
| 3+ tiles | 53% |
| 4+ tiles | 26% |
| 5+ tiles | 9.8% |
| 6+ tiles | 2.7% |
| 7+ tiles | 0.55% |

Seven or more honors at the start happen only 0.55% of the time. In 4,000 computer-played hands (3,849 wins) All Honors appeared 0 times — too small a sample for a fan this rare; it only shows how rare it is.
When to go for it
- Many honors with three or four pairs: claim the scoring ones first (dragons, prevalent and seat wind) — each claim already scores, and Half Flush or All Pungs is the fall-back.
- Honors are the first tiles others discard, so pungs are claimable — but with four of each, two in the discards means that honor can only be your pair.
- When someone shows two or three honor pungs and the discards are almost free of honors, they are probably chasing All Honors or another big hand: hold your honors.
