Fan and scoring
Scoring
A base of 8 plus the fan: who pays what on a discard or a self-draw, and how the deal rotates in a match.
A base of 8 plus the fan
MCR scoring is simple: no dealer bonus and no limit.
- Discard win: the discarder pays “points + 8”; the other two pay 8 each.
- Self-draw: each of the three pays “points + 8”.
For example, a 12-point win off a discard: the discarder pays 20, the others 8 each, and the winner gets 36. The same 12 points self-drawn: everyone pays 20 and the winner gets 60.
Flower points are included in the points; they just don’t count toward the 8-point minimum.

How a match is played
There is no dealer repeat: after every hand — won or drawn — the deal passes to the next player. The prevalent wind changes every four hands; four rounds (East, South, West, North) make 16 hands, the length of a tournament session.
A drawn hand (wall exhausted with no winner) scores nothing.
Only one winner
When several players can win on the same discard, MCR has no multiple winners: the player next in turn after the discarder wins.
